J. W. Cunningham papers, 1898-1946.

Personal papers of a scattered and miscellaneous nature, including a number of personal letters Cunningham wrote to his wife, Laura Moore Cunningham, while she was in San Francisco for medical treatment (Spring 1937), and letters (1908-1917) he received from his friend Lyman B. Kendall, discussing the stock market, particular stocks, and the impact of World War I on investments. Also contained in these papers is a typewritten document dated 1937 (3 pages) summarizing the conditions that led to the closure of First National Bank of Idaho (later Idaho First National Bank) in 1932, describing the plan that allowed its reopening, outlining its progress in the intervening years, and requesting permission (apparently from the Reconstruction Finance Corporation) to release its stock.
